Security That Wins: How TaylorMade Uses CrowdStrike to Stay Ahead
TaylorMade Golf is one of the most iconic names in golf equipment. But today, it’s far more than that. With global operations spanning manufacturing, e-commerce, and a fast-growing lifestyle brand in Sunday Red, TaylorMade is transforming from a premium golf brand into a multi-dimensional business.
Supporting this growth is a small, highly capable security team responsible for protecting the entire global enterprise. To keep up with the company’s expansion, they needed a cybersecurity platform that wouldn’t just keep pace — it needed to lead. That’s where CrowdStrike comes in.
A Platform That Grows With the Business
TaylorMade first adopted CrowdStrike Falcon® Insight XDR for extended detection and response and quickly recognized its strength in endpoint security. But the breakthrough came several years later when the team began expanding its use of the AI-native CrowdStrike Falcon® cybersecurity platform to take advantage of new innovations.
They brought on CrowdStrike Falcon® Device Control to manage access in sensitive environments. They adopted CrowdStrike Falcon® Exposure Management to proactively identify vulnerabilities across systems. And most recently, they implemented CrowdStrike Falcon® Next-Gen SIEM and CrowdStrike Falcon® Complete Next-Gen MDR to centralize visibility, streamline detection, and eliminate the bottlenecks that had held them back.
“With CrowdStrike, everything we need is in one place. It's fast, it’s unified, and it works — day in and day out,” said Nathan Kelly, Senior Information Security Engineer.
With operations spread across North America, Asia, and Europe, the ability to unify telemetry from legacy systems, cloud platforms, and third-party vendors like ExtraHop and Abnormal Security was no longer a nice-to-have. It was essential. Falcon Next-Gen SIEM became the foundation. Logs are ingested from all corners of the environment and correlated in real time. Engineers no longer need to jump between consoles. They get answers in a single place.
“We don’t even log into our firewall console anymore,” said Collin Self, Senior Information Security Engineer. “We just go to CrowdStrike. It’s faster, more intuitive, and it tells us what matters.”
How Falcon Next-Gen SIEM Changed Everything
Falcon Next-Gen SIEM stands out for its speed, simplicity, and scale. Queries run in seconds. The language is intuitive. Detection rules are easy to write and customize. Whether they’re correlating EDR data with network traffic or reporting on AI usage trends, TaylorMade’s team has complete confidence in what the Falcon platform can deliver.
“Most SIEMs are slow and clunky,” said Kelly. “With Falcon Next-Gen SIEM, we were writing custom detections and getting results on day one.”
Use cases span across IT and security, from deeper threat hunting and reporting to helping infrastructure teams troubleshoot application errors. CrowdStrike Falcon® Fusion SOAR adds even more power to this model by enabling automation across those workflows without leaving the platform.
"We're super excited about Falcon Fusion. It's intuitive, and having that type of automation within the Falcon platform is huge for us. There's a lot of custom ad hoc rules that we leverage, and having that SOAR capability to automate any of those steps is valuable,” said Kelly.
The Falcon platform’s centralized approach has even reduced the need to access other consoles altogether. At TaylorMade, the SIEM isn’t just a security tool — it’s an operations hub. “Our infrastructure teams are using the SIEM too,” said Self. “It's not just about stopping threats, it's about enabling better decisions across the board.”
The benefits of this visibility become even more critical as the business expands. When TaylorMade acquired a golf ball factory in Korea, the lightweight Falcon agent was installed on every endpoint before anything else. When Sunday Red launched as a standalone brand, CrowdStrike was baked into the infrastructure from the start. In both cases, CrowdStrike allowed the security team to move fast without sacrificing safety.
“The business moves fast,” said TJ Lingenfelter, Head of Information Security. “CrowdStrike lets us say yes to new initiatives without slowing them down.”
From Reactive to Proactive
Before switching to Falcon Complete Next-Gen MDR, TaylorMade cycled through multiple MDR providers. Those solutions either operated as black boxes or couldn’t scale to the company's needs. The result was long hours spent combing through logs, slow response times, and a team stuck in a reactive posture.
That all changed with CrowdStrike. With the Falcon Complete team managing triage and investigation, alerts are surfaced with clear context. TaylorMade’s engineers engage only when necessary — freeing up critical time to focus on strategy.
“We haven’t had a major incident since switching to Falcon Complete,” said Self. “That lets us focus on the proactive, strategic work that really moves the needle.”
That shift has allowed the team to pursue the kinds of projects they couldn’t touch before. They’re implementing Zero Trust architecture and rolling out microsegmentation. They’ve built custom detections in the SIEM to monitor for generative AI use and analyze browser extension behavior. They’re integrating infrastructure teams into the console for broader visibility. What used to be a flood of noise is now a steady stream of intelligence.
“We’ve gone from drowning in incident response to working on the things we always wanted to get to — projects that actually mature our program,” said Kelly.
Security That Wins
With just a handful of engineers, TaylorMade knew it couldn’t afford a fragmented toolset or unreliable support. Consolidating on the Falcon platform has given the company a single source of truth across endpoints, cloud, and network. It has deep integrations with its existing tech stack. It has Falcon Complete Next-Gen MDR standing guard 24/7. And it has a cybersecurity platform that keeps expanding alongside it.
“CrowdStrike is like a full set of TaylorMade clubs,” concluded Kelly. “There’s a tool for every situation, and you know you can trust it to deliver.”
